CONCRETE PAD & BASEMENT FLOOR INSTALLATION IN KING CITY, ONTARIO

Excavation and Preparation: The first step in the project was excavation. Our team meticulously cleared the ground to create an even base for the new concrete pad. This involved removing dirt and leveling the area to ensure a stable foundation. For the basement floor, we prepared the area similarly, focusing on creating a level surface that would support the new concrete.

Setting Up Wooden Frames: To prevent concrete from spilling over during the pour, we set up sturdy wooden frames around the perimeter of both the gazebo pad and the basement floor. These frames ensured that the concrete was contained and maintained its shape throughout the curing process.

Placing Gravel Base: A layer of gravel was laid down to provide a solid base and improve the grip of the concrete. This gravel base helps in achieving a stable, long-lasting surface by enhancing the bonding between the concrete and the underlying ground.

Reinforcement: For added strength and stability, we reinforced both the gazebo pad and basement floor. This reinforcement included the installation of steel rebar or mesh, which helps to prevent cracks and improve the durability of the concrete.

Pouring the Concrete: We used high-strength 32MPA concrete for this project. The mix comprised one container of cement, one and three-quarters of river sand, and one and three-quarters of stone. This specific blend was chosen for its excellent strength and suitability for high-load structures. The concrete was carefully poured into the prepared areas, with ConPump ensuring it reached every corner efficiently.

Finishing Touches: After the concrete was poured, we applied different finishes as per the client’s request. For the gazebo pad, we used a broom texture, which provides a non-slip surface and adds a decorative touch. In the basement, we finished the floor with a smooth texture, giving it a sleek, professional look.
